Handplane of the day

Handplane of the day

Happy 4th!

Nikau Kai "Keep it Simple" day at the beach was huge success!

Thanks so much to Jason Shanks and crew from Nikau Kai Waterman Shop in Manhattan Beach for the hospitality. We had a great time! So many people having fun with handplanes and paipos it was so great to watch it all go down.

Thank you to Glenn Stokomoto and Jon Wegener from The Paipo Society for showing up with handplanes and paipos. It wouldn't have been the same without you guys.

If you want to host a day like this at your beach let us know and we'll see what we can do to support you.

Thank you to everyone who came. See everyone again soon!

Art by Paul “Ugie” Uglow

Paul “Ugie” Uglow

Native Californian has lived in Hawaii, New Zealand, Mexico and Australia. His world travels influence his Tribal prehistoric Sea Creatures. 100% recycled surfboards and paint are used. How cool is that? I got to do a show with Ugie a few weeks back and his work was inspiring. His use of color is great and his creatures are just plain fun! Good job Ugie!

Contact Ugie here if you are interested in purchasing his art or would like to invite him to an art show.

Thanks to everyone for supporting your local artists.
